Wang: China to continue to support Iran

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Wednesday that Beijing will continue to support Iran's independence and its efforts to resist "bullying," as per Xinhua News.

He further expressed China's willingness to help Iran in protecting its legitimate interests through diplomatic means and said Beijing respects Tehran's determination to pursue a peacetime nuclear program. Wang stressed that his country seeks to play a constructive role in helping resolve the Iranian nuclear issue through dialogue.

Wang made his remarks during a meeting with his Iranian colleague Abbas Araghchi in Tianjin as part of high-profile contacts with foreign ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.
