Warner Bros may reportedly merge Max, Paramount+

EPA-EFE/ALLISON DINNER

Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc. is exploring a potential merger of Max and Paramount+ as a joint venture, CNBC reported on Monday citing sources with knowledge of the matter.

Apart from WBD, Paramount Global is currently in talks with various other companies as well over the potential integration of Paramount+ into an already existing platform. The potential deal between Paramount and WBD could help both of them stand against giants like Netflix, Inc. or The Walt Disney Company.

Paramount's co-CEO Chris McCarthy said in remarks obtained by CNBC that the firm is also looking into the possibility of working together with a technology platform. "What they don't have is our scale of content, and together we will make for a very powerful combination to drive more minutes and greater profits," he commented.
