United States Senator from Massachusetts Elizabeth Warren announced in a video posted on Monday she will run for a third term in office.
"I first ran for Senate because I saw how the system is rigged for the rich and the powerful and against everyone else," Warren stated. "Now, I'm running for Senate again because there's a lot more we’ve got to do: Pass a wealth tax. Make child care affordable. Protect our coastal communities. And build a 21st-century transportation system across all of Massachusetts," she added.
Warren, whose current term expires in early 2025, also serves as the vice chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus. Recently, she blamed Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell for the ongoing banking crisis and urged the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate the executives of Silicon Valley Bank following its collapse.
