Dan Snyder, the owner of the National Football League team Washington Commanders, is exploring a potential sale of the franchise, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

The team's owner appointed Bank of America Corporation to "consider potential transactions." Snyder has been reportedly under considerable pressure from fans and other NFL owners to sell his team, formerly known as the Washington Redskins, as a series of scandals and controversies have surrounded the franchise over the past two decades under his leadership.

Notably, he is under investigation by the United States House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Reform over alleged misrepresentation of ticket sales to the NFL and Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
