The Washington Post announced that its executive editor, Sally Buzbee, had stepped down from her position with the news agency.

The news agency stated that Matt Murray, former editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal, would replace her immediately, after which, Robert Winnett, currently deputy editor of the Telegraph Media Group, will take over as editor.

No particular reason was given for Buzbee's departure, and she wasn't quoted in the announcement, while CEO and Publisher of the Washington Post William Lewis expressed that she will be "sorely missed."
