Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday that the West has "declared total war against the entire Russian world" and is "quadrupling its efforts to contain" Russia. He predicted that the Western countries' "unprecedented Russophobia" will remain in place "for a long time."

However, Lavrov insisted that President Vladimir Putin's policies rely on "broad public support" as well as that of "key political forces" and leading public organizations and businesses. "In essence, a consolidation of healthy patriotic forces is taking place in the country," he said.
