The World Economic Forum (WEF) has initiated an independent investigation into its workplace culture following allegations of harassment and discrimination, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

This decision comes weeks after a June 29 Wall Street Journal report highlighted claims of a hostile environment, particularly towards women and Black employees. The WEF board has formed a special committee led by AXA CEO Thomas Buberl and engaged law firm Covington & Burling for the review.

The Journal's investigation, based on interviews with over 80 employees, alleged instances of sexual harassment and racial discrimination. In response, WEF stated it has zero tolerance for such behavior and has handled complaints appropriately.
