X's engineering head said to have 'suddenly' quit

X Corp's director of engineering Haofei Wang has suddenly left the company, the Verge reported on Friday citing sources familiar with the matter.

Wang was said to have played a vital role in the company as the de facto head of the social media giant's engineering and product departments. No details were given as to the reasons why Wang decided to depart X.

Neither Wang nor X spokesperson have yet commented on the report.
