Xander Schauffele won his first major on Sunday by beating LIV Golf League captain Bryson DeChambeau and Norway's Viktor Hovland to the PGA Championship title.
The 30-year-old from San Diego managed to outlast the two in the final round of the 106th PGA Championship at the Valhalla Golf Club, closing with a 6-under 65 to finish at 21 under par, one stroke ahead of DeChambeau and three better than Hovland. He claimed a $3.33 million winner's cut of an $18.5 million prize purse.
Schauffele became the first player since Phil Mickelson in 2005 at Baltusrol to win the PGA Championship with a birdie on the last hole to win by one stroke ahead.
