Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed Thursday his commitment to strengthening trade relations with Africa by increasing market access and signing a trade cooperation framework agreement.
The objective will be to provide "long-term stability" and to help African small and medium-sized enterprises, he said during his speech at the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Summit (FOCAC) in Beijing. Xi also vowed to help in Africa's modernization by launching 24 digital model projects and 30 infrastructure connectivity projects, aligning with the Belt and Road Initiative. Additionally, China will support African governance through training programs and invite 1,000 African party members for dialogue in China.
"We will gather the great power of 2.8 billion Chinese and African people to jointly move forward on our path to modernization, which will also propel that of the Global South," he noted
