Chinese President Xi Jinping warned on Wednesday that tariff and trade wars harm all countries, weaken multilateral trade, and disrupt the global economic order. Speaking during a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Xi stressed that such practices undermine legitimate national interests and international fairness. His comments came shortly after US President Donald Trump said tariffs on Chinese goods would not reach 145%, although they won't be completely removed either.

According to Chinese state media, the two leaders announced the establishment of a "China-Azerbaijan comprehensive strategic partnership." They signed 20 cooperation agreements covering the Belt and Road Initiative, digital economy, green development, and law enforcement.

Xi emphasized China's readiness to deepen security and legal cooperation with Azerbaijan, and reaffirmed his country's commitment to protecting the international system.
