Chinese President Xi Jinping told Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly during a meeting in Beijing that China is prepared to work with Cairo on "injecting more certainty and stability" into the Middle East amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.
As cited by CCTV, Xi stated that China and Egypt are "good friends who cherish the same aspirations and trust each other" and added Beijing wants to "jointly safeguard international fairness and justice and the common interests of developing countries" with Egypt.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden spoke with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and discussed delivering aid to Gaza and "mechanisms to ensure the aid is distributed for the benefit of the civilian population."
