United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is planning to visit China "in the near future," and is looking forward "to welcoming her counterparts to the US," it was revealed in the Treasury Department's official readout on Wednesday.
Her first in-person bilateral meeting with Chinese Vice Premier Liu He in Switzerland was "candid, substantive, and constructive," as the two sides shared "views on macroeconomic and financial developments."
Earlier, Yellen underlined that Washington and Beijing must continue to communicate on economic issues in order to prevent conflicts, while Liu noted that the two sides need to "seek common ground" so as to keep stable relations.
