YouTube unveiled on Tuesday in a blogpost that it will be expanding its partnership with Shopify Inc., "so more merchants can make their products available for creators to tag in their shopping content."
All eligible Shopify Plus and Advanced merchants in the United States will now be able to sign up for YouTube Shopping’s affiliate program, which will then allow creators to promote "thousands of new brands" in their videos.
Furthermore, for creators located in the US, a new Chrome extension is being made available, as part of the program. Users will now be able to "save products while browsing a brand or retailer's site," which will make it easier for them to find the goods later on when tagging them.
