Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told Sputnik radio on Wednesday that as the anti-Russian topics in the United States are being exhausted, the country is now turning to reports on unidentified flying objects (UFOs).

"There will be elections soon in the United States. There will be Pokemon, there will also be UFOs. They brought the topic of Russia to complete absurdity inside their information and political field. I don’t see additional resources that they could squeeze out of a topic that has been promoted for many years," she stated.

Zakharova asserted that the matter of UFOs is just another "absurdity" used to "distract attention" and "fascinate" the public.
