Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said in an interview with Channel 24 on Wednesday that Ukraine is ready for peace negotiations with Russia, but only "on fair terms" and in accordance with international law.
"Ukraine is indeed ready for negotiations with Russia, but it is not worth waiting for a simple solution. Ukraine will demand fair conditions, a legal basis, and coercion of Russia as an aggressor based on international law," Podolyak said.
Zelensky's adviser noted that there should be "no compromises at the expense of Ukraine" and expressed his hope that United States President-elect Donald Trump "understands the rules of the game that the Kremlin is trying to impose."
