Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that he talked over the phone with United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and noted they discussed the war in Ukraine and the two countries' defense cooperation.
"Spoke about Russia's daily attempts to destroy Odesa's historic center and port infrastructure. We must defend Odesa. Ukraine urgently needs to strengthen its air defense to protect its historical heritage and continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative," Zelensky tweeted.
Russia has been attacking Odessa over the past few days in response to Kiev's attack on the Crimean Bridge, which led to Zelensky urging Ukraine's allies to provide the country with more air defense systems to protect the entire territory of Ukraine
