Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Monday that United States President Donald Trump's inauguration is "a day of change and also a day of hope."

"President Trump is always decisive, and the peace through strength policy he announced provides an opportunity to strengthen American leadership and achieve a long-term and just peace, which is the top priority," Zelensky noted in a post on X.

The Ukrainian head of state also voiced his hope that the two countries' cooperation will be further strengthened under the Trump administration in order to "provide greater security, stability, and economic growth to the world and our two nations."
