Comedian Volodymyr Zelensky won the second round of presidential elections in Ukraine on Sunday, exit polls showed. He took over 70% of the votes against the incumbent president Petro Poroshenko, who conceded defeat and congratulated the opponent.
While celebrating the results, Zelensky said that his victory shows that "everything is possible."
Predominantly Russian-speaking parts of Ukraine heavily preferred Zelensky, who won in all regions of the country. Poroshenko had the best results in the Western part of the country, where he took 43.6% of the votes.
