Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky estimated in an interview with Sky News on Friday that a prolonged delivery time of western tanks would be inopportune for his country.
Answering a journalist's question as to whether a possible August delivery of the Abrams tanks promised by the US would be belated, the president confirmed by replying "too late." Still, Zelensky went on to say that he does not know the "real situation for now" as to the delivery dates eyed by Washington and the European countries.
The leader thanked the western allies for greenlighting the military aid plans in question, particularly mentioning the US and the United Kingdom, while also noting he would have a call with Germany's Chancellor Olaf Scholz to discuss Leopard tanks supply later in the day.
