Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated Thursday that the European political community has a real possibility to evolve into a community of peace.

In his address to European politicians, the Ukrainian president stressed that the bloc's position is now "strong enough" to conduct all of "Europe's potential power into ending the war and guaranteeing long-term peace for Ukraine, Europe, and the world."

The European political community is a new political organization designed to unite the European Union and 17 other European countries in what's been defined as a "European security council." The group comprises 27 EU members, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Ukraine, and non-EU members from the Balkans, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
