Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insisted on Tuesday while addressing the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) that Russia's military operation in his country cannot be solved with negotiations but with action.
Urging more aid for Ukraine, Zelensky warned about Russia gathering support for its campaign. He underscored that Moscow does not have a "legitimate reason" to make Iran and North Korea its "de facto accomplices" in its operation in his country. Furthermore, Zelensky underlined Ukraine's right to self-defense.
Before leaving for the UN General Assembly (UNGA), Zelensky said that Kiev's allies are not ready to greenlight the use of long-range weapons against targets in Russia because they are afraid of further escalations.
