Zelensky: Ukraine needs more advanced air systems

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed on Thursday that the fact his country's army destroyed more than 30 Russian drones during the latter's attack on Kiev shows that the allies need to provide it with more advanced air defense systems.

Writing on Facebook, Zelensky insisted that the drones that Russia possesses cannot "bypass" the protection systems such as the United States-made Patriot surface-to-air missile (SAM).

"We must show that terror is always a loser. We must prove to Russia that it will be forced to accept a normal free life in Ukraine. We need the support of our partners. And I am grateful to everyone in the world who really helps," he concluded.
