Zuckerberg: Twitter had the opportunity, but hasn't nailed it

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg commented on Wednesday about Twitter's performance following the official launch of Threads.

While answering a question on the possibility of Threads becoming bigger than Twitter, Zuckerberg said in the new social media, "It'll take some time, but I think there should be a public conversations app with more than one billion people on it. Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but hasn't nailed it. Hopefully, we will."

Today Meta released the new product that, according to the company, should "take what Instagram does best and expand that to text." The app is available for free download on Apple's App Store and Google Play in more than 100 countries.

According to Zuckerberg, the new platform surpassed "5 million sign ups in the first four hours...".
