The race for Alaska's Senate seat in the 2022 midterms will be decided in a runoff, NBC News projected. Due to the state's ranked-choice voting system, the second round will include two Republican Party candidates, incumbent Lisa Murkowski (pictured) and Kelly Tshibaka.
Murkowski has represented Alaska in the US Senate since 2002 and is seeking her fourth term. She is one of the most moderate Republicans in the chamber, voting to impeach then-President Donald Trump for his role in the January 6 Capitol riot. Tshibaka was endorsed by Trump.
