Albanese arrived in China on Saturday for the first visit by an Australian prime minister since 2016 and delivered a speech at the opening of the China International Import Expo (CIIE).

Albanese said the bilateral relationship is "energized by the complementary nature of our economies" and that the two countries have "prospered thanks to the certainty and stability that is made possible by rules-based trade." He is expected to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday.
