Amazon seeks FTC chair recusal on prejudice grounds

Amazon.com Inc. is pushing for the Federal Trade Commission Chair Lina Khan to recuse herself from the regulator's ongoing antitrust investigations into the company, CNBC reported on Wednesday.

According to the company's spokesperson, Khan has "preconceived views about the company" and is prejudiced against the company due to her previous work. Additionally, the spokesperson asserted that Amazon should have the right to an impartial investigation, but noted that the company "should be scrutinized along with all large organizations."

The FTC is looking into Amazon on multiple grounds, including invading consumer privacy and its acquisition of MGM, and has already fined the online reseller nearly $62 million for its withholding of payments from delivery drivers.
