French President Emmanuel Macron in a video message on Saturday said his country supports the Black Sea Grain Initiative. He noted that Paris is prepared to sponsor deliveries of grain to the nations in need, arguing that "the most vulnerable countries must not pay the price of a war they did not want."
"Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine has aggravated the destabilization of the supply chains," Macron said, accusing Russia of using "hunger as leverage and a weapon of war."
Back in October, Russia briefly suspended its participation in the deal over Ukraine and Britain allegedly firing at its ships in the grain corridor's safe zone.
