The Second United States Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan denied on Wednesday FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried's request to be released from a Brooklyn jail.
Bankman-Fried argued that he would like to spend his time before the trial outside of the jail as he cannot prepare for it properly inside. Meanwhile, prosecutors insisted that "the defendant has had the ability to review electronic discovery at the MDC with an air-gapped laptop" during specified hours and that no fallacies were found when it comes to "the functionality of the USB ports and software applications utilized."
Although the court rejected Bankman-Fried's bid, it said that it would ask the next available three-judge panel to review the request.
