Aramco IPO 'most likely' delayed until 2019 - Al-Falih

Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister Khaled al-Falih said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on Friday that the state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco will "most likely" go public in 2019.

"We’re simply waiting for a market readiness for the IPO," Al-Falih, who is also the chairman of Aramco, stated.

Earlier, the Saudi minister said Aramco could have an initial public offering (IPO) in the second half of 2018, but noted going public this year will not take place unless "it's optimum." The oil company still hasn't decided which exchange it will choose for its international IPO, but it is expected to be the largest IPO ever.
