Major stock indexes in the Asia-Pacific region traded lower on Monday, resuming Friday's sell-off, with Japan's Nikkei 225 and South Korea's Kospi Composite leading losses in the region. Monday saw the release of Australian, Japanese and Chinese service sector activity figures.
Australia's S&P/ASX 200 lost 2.67% at 4:30 am CET. South Korea's Kospi Composite decreased by 4.74% a minute later. Hong Kong's Hang Seng lost 0.78% at 4:31 am CET, while, on the Chinese mainland, the Shanghai Composite and the Shenzhen Composite decreased by 0.57% and 0.42%, respectively and Japan's Nikkei 225 was down by 4.63% at 4:32 am CET.
The dollar traded 0.83% lower against the yen, going for ¥145.32850 at 4:33 am CET.
