French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot told public radio station France Inter on Wednesday that the European Union will not allow any country to attack its borders, referring to US President-elect Donald Trump's comments on Greenland regarding the "ownership and control" of the vast Arctic island that has been part of Denmark for over 600 years.
"There is no question of the EU letting other nations in the world, whoever they may be, attack its sovereign borders, whoever they are ... We are a strong continent," Barrot added.
In a press conference held yesterday, Trump said he would not dismiss the potential use of economic or military pressure to assert control over the Panama Canal and Greenland.
