United States President Joe Biden underlined on Monday in a statement that the International Criminal Court's (ICC) arrest warrant applications against the Israeli leadership are "outrageous."
"Let me be clear: whatever this prosecutor might imply, there is no equivalence — none — between Israel and Hamas. We will always stand with Israel against threats to its security," Biden stressed.
In a separate statement, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington "fundamentally rejects" the announcement as it won't help resolve the conflict in the region, adding that comparing Israel and Hamas is "shameful," and that ICC has no jurisdiction in this case. "Hamas is a brutal terrorist organization that carried out the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust and is still holding dozens of innocent people hostage," Blinken underlined.
