United States President Joe Biden told reporters on Monday that he does not think Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is doing enough to secure a ceasefire and hostage deal with Hamas.

In response to a reporter's question on whether Netanyahu should do more and if he is doing enough, Biden replied: "No." He and his Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris are set to meet the American hostage deal negotiation team. Ahead of the meeting, the US president also said he believes the final hostage agreement is "very close."

According to earlier media reports, Washington is preparing to present a "take it or leave it" ceasefire proposal between Israel and Hamas following the confirmation of the deaths of six more hostages.
