Bitcoin jumps 3% on ETF optimism

Prices of major cryptocurrencies rose on Thursday as traders seemingly expect that official United States authorities' approval of an exchange-traded fund centered on Bitcoin is approaching.

Bitcoin was up 3.02% to $36,715 at 12:01 am ET. Ether increased by 1.79% to $1,922 at the same time.

Bitcoin again reached a level last seen in May 2022, while Ether reached a July 2023 high.
