United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken insisted on Thursday that Russia's looming aggression against Ukraine represents the most immediate threat for the world.
Speaking before the United Nations Security Council, Blinken claimed that Moscow is taking steps toward war, and that the Russian government is planning on staging a pretext to justify an invasion. "Russian missiles and bombs will drop across Ukraine, communication channels will be jammed and cyberattacks will follow," Blinken continued.
The Russian media is already spreading false claims, Blinken stressed. Concluding his speech, Blinken noted that the US government's response will be "decisive" in the case that his projections turn out to be true. Minsk agreements from 2014 and 2015 remain the basis to resolve conflict, he added.
