Voting was temporarily halted in five locations in DeKalb County, Georgia, on Tuesday after bomb threats were posted, according to county officials.
DeKalb police responded by conducting bomb sweeps at the sites, which included a church, two libraries, a community center, and a senior center. Two other non-polling locations also received similar threats.
Commenting on the situation, DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections Executive Director Keisha Smith said the voting was suspended "out of an abundance of caution" until they had "clearance from DeKalb Police to reopen the facilities." The news comes hours after two polling stations were also affected in Fulton County following five bomb threats received by authorities.
