The Chinese National Health Commission announced on Friday changes to its COVID-19 quarantine policy for travelers coming into the country. Travelers will now have to spend five days in quarantine at a government facility or a hotel, instead of one week. This is followed by another three days of isolation at home.
The new rules will also apply to those in close contact with people infected with COVID-19 in China. The state will no longer track people outside of the close-contact range, the Commission stated. China will also halt the measure that saw flights from certain destinations banned depending on the number of COVID-positive travelers.
