The gross domestic product (GDP) of China rose by 5.2% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2023, according to a report released by the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Wednesday.
The data showed goods and services produced by Beijing went under investors' expectations, increasing by 0.3 percentage points compared to the figure seen in the third quarter of the year.
On a quarterly basis, Chinese GDP climbed by 1.0%.
