Officials of China's port city of Guangzhou reinstated some coronavirus-related restriction measures on Wednesday following a local outbreak yesterday, which was proclaimed after health authorities recorded five new COVID-19 cases.
Among several measures introduced based on Beijing's "dynamic zero-COVID policy," restaurants and indoor entertainment venues have been closed in some parts of the city until September 3, while schools delayed the start of the semester. Transportation services have also been reduced.
Similar lockdown measures were undertaken in other parts of China, including in the country's major business hub of Shenzhen.
