Industrial production in China increased by 5.1% in July compared to the same period last year, coming slightly short of estimates, but climbing by 0.35% month on month, the National Bureau of Statistics reported on Thursday.
Manufacturing was up by 5.3% year-on-year. High-tech manufacturing saw the biggest rise in production, 10%, followed by equipment manufacturing, up 7.3%, and mining, which rose 4.6%, while the production of electricity, gas, and water increased 4%.
In the first six months of 2024, Chinese industrial output increased by 3.5% compared to last year's results.
