China's Ambassador to the United States Qin Gang noted on Monday that he believes that, "in the near future," coronavirus measures in the People's Republic "will be further relaxed" and that "international travel will become easier."
Speaking at the Semafor Africa Summit, Qin said that the attitude of the Chinese government concerning the pandemic was "responsible" in order to "protect people's lives." He insisted that China's response was "dynamic, not rigid" and that stories about complete lockdowns were "not true."
"We know people's concerns, we know the importance of coordination of COVID response and economic growth," the ambassador underlined, adding that China is "making dynamic readjustment" to its coronavirus policy.
