The gross domestic product (GDP) of China rose by 6.3% year on year in the second quarter of 2023, according to a preliminary report released by the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday.
The Chinese economy grew by 0.8% quarter on quarter. The value of the primary industry grew 3.7% year on year, the secondary industry expanded 4.3% and the tertiary industry was up 6.4%.
In the first half of 2023, the Chinese GDP reached 59,303.4 billion yuan, climbing 5.5% on an annual basis.
