United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Burns will reportedly meet with Israel's Mossad spy agency Director David Barnea and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss a potential new agreement aimed at securing the release of Israeli captives from the Gaza Strip, sources told Axios on Monday.

According to people familiar with the matter, the meeting should take place in Warsaw.

On December 16, the Qatari prime minister and Israel's Mossad chief held discussions on resuming the hostage agreement between Israel and Hamas. Burns also met with the head of the Israeli spy agency in Qatar to discuss a potential extension of the temporary ceasefire between the two parties last month, which secured the safe release of dozens of hostages.
