China's National Health Commission (NHC) said on Thursday that the COVID-19 situation in the country remains "serious and complex." Within the last 24 hours, 280 new cases were confirmed on the mainland, including 39 cases from abroad, in 31 different administrative regions.
An NHC spokesperson said China has not yet curbed community spread and the spillover of the virus, adding that the country is "facing growing pressure from cases imported from abroad," according to CGTN.
