Danish Defense Minister Jakob Ellemann-Jensen announced on Thursday that Denmark would donate 19 CAESAR artillery pieces to Ukraine.
The minister noted that "Ukrainians have asked for further support from the free world, including Denmark," adding that Copenhagen already negotiated the delivery of CAESAR in particular. The weapons will be transferred to Denmark from France within the next six months before being donated to Kiev forces.
Ellemann-Jensen underscored that the weapons were initially ordered for the Danish military, promising that the government is working on a replacement as soon as possible. CAESAR is a French-made powerful self-propelled ranged weapon used to strike targets more than 40 kilometers away accurately.
