French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Tuesday that he and Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MbS) will preside over a summit dedicated to the matter of Palestine's statehood.
"We have decided to co-chair a conference for the two states in June next year," Macron told the media during his visit to Riyadh. "In the coming months, together, we will multiply and combine our diplomatic initiatives to bring everyone along this path."
Since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began on October 7, 2024, and the worsening of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, several members of the European Union, such as Ireland and Spain, have begun processes of recognizing the State of Palestine.
