eBay Inc. announced on Tuesday that its revenue in the third quarter of its fiscal 2023 stood at $2.5 billion, rising 5% on an annual basis and coming in slightly below analysts' forecasts.
GAAP diluted earnings per share in the three months to September 30 amounted to $2.46, compared to a $0.13 loss per share registered in the same timeframe in 2022. Net income in the reported trimester reached $1.3 billion, compared to the $70 million loss recorded last year. However, gross merchandise value (GMV) was up 2% to $18 billion.
"We delivered another quarter of solid results, and have accelerated the pace of innovation across eBay," CEO Jamie Iannone said. "The strategic investments in our marketplace and the team's strong execution are driving increased customer satisfaction, especially in focus categories," he added.
eBay stock fell 5.05% in after-hours trading following the earnings announcement.
