Shares of eBay Inc. jumped by almost 12% during the trading session on Wednesday after the company announced a partnership with Meta Platforms Inc.
Namely, Meta will feature eBay offerings on Facebook Marketplace. During a testing period, users in France, Germany and the United States will be able to browse eBay listings on Facebook Marketplace and proceed to eBay to complete their purchases. The move comes as Meta seeks to comply with European Union trade regulations after the European Commission fined Meta $840 million for favoring its Facebook Marketplace.
eBay's share soared 11.94% at 9:51 am ET to sell for $70.72 apiece.
