ECB's September rate hike subject to data, Nagel says

Member of the European Central Bank (ECB) Governing Council and Deutsche Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel reiterated on Tuesday that the former institution's decision on whether it will raise interest rates in September or not depends on new data.

Speaking to NTV, Nagel also expressed his optimism about the economy entering a recession.

Nagel recently indicated that the ECB could continue raising the rates after the summer break to make sure inflation goes back to its target of 2%.
